THE BUILDING
The KIGS owns a large double
story building in the main commercial area of
Kiulap. It has 18 tutorial rooms which can
accommodate about 20 students each. For the ICT
related courses, it has five computer labs
equipped with the latest hardware and software
equipment. The Multipurpose Hall, situated at
the ground floor, can accommodate up to 300
people. It is equipped with modern audio and
video equipments and offers ideal facilities for
public lectures, seminars and workshops etc.
THE LOBBY
Its large centrally air
conditioned student lobby is a usual meeting
place for the students and lecturers during
their free time. It provides the opportunity for
the students and lecturers from different
departments to get together to socialize within
the college premises. The lobby is also used for
exhibitions, expos or other indoor activities.
THE
TUTORIAL ROOMS
KIGS has 18 tutorial rooms , well equipped with
15-20 chairs each and tables and a whiteboard.
The room are fully air-conditioned with proper
lighting.
THE COMPUTER LABORATORIES
We
have 5 computer laboratories which accommodate
62 up-to-date computers with flat screen
installed with the latest software. The building
is also equipped with a satellite for the
internet usage offering wireless internet
connection throughout the premises.
THE MAINTENANCE / HARDWARE LAB
Used for training. This lab has hardware of all
types to allow students of computer studies to
experience hardware firsthand.
THE LIBRARY
Its central library, situated on
the ground floor, has a large collection of
books, magazines, journals, and other learning
technologies, which offers a wider opportunity
to students to enhance their knowledge not only
in their relevant subjects, but other areas as
well such as religion, current affairs, sports,
science and technology etc.
THE ECA HALL
In addition to the usual academic
activities, students are encouraged to
participate in extra curricular activities like
sports, music, art and culture. For this
purpose, one hall has been allocated for the
weekly extra curricular activities which include
socio-cultural events and indoor sports.
Wednesday afternoons have been reserved for
extra curricular activities.
THE CAR PARK
Since the KIGS is located in a
busy commercial area and where parking may be a
problem, the management of the KIGS has reserved
a large car parking space in the basement of the
building for the convenience of the students and
staff of the KIGS. Upon registration, students
are issued with special parking passes which
allow them to park their vehicles in the
reserved area. For the safety reasons, this car
park is manned by the security personnel of the
building at all times.
THE STUDENT HOSTEL
The student population at KIGS is
growing rapidly. There is a large number of
students coming from far flung areas within
Brunei. In addition to that, KIGS is also
accepting foreign students. For their
accommodation, KIGS, together with Setia
Kenangan Sdn. Bhd., provides apartments within
the college premises which are fully furnished
with all the necessities like a bed, cupboards,
writing table, sofa, television, dining table,
washing machine and kitchen appliances with free
water and electricity and maintenance. KIGS
charges a nominal amount of BND$100.00 per month
from the students.
THE PRAYER ROOM (SURAU)
For the convenience of the Muslim
students, a prayer room has been built at the
basement which can accommodate about 30 male 15
females at one time.
